I grew up in Plano Texas and am a true native Texan, born and raised in this lovely state. I currently attend Texas Woman’s University and will graduate in December 2014 with a Bachelors degree in Liberal Arts. I have taught many different age students in many different settings from the classroom to church choirs to voice lessons I love to inspire students and help them  gain confidence as they recognize their voice.

From before birth, I was immersed in an environment where music was all around.  This immersion helped me find a love for music at an early age.  It cultivated a passion for music so strong that I want to share it!   As a way to enjoy and learn more about music I joined the Younger Generation Chorus as a vocalist and performed with them for 5 years.  Once I went to high school I got involved in the Plano ISD choir programs.  I performed with the Woman’s All Region Choir in 2008, was a vocalist in the top varsity choir for 4 years, and received the Outstanding Junior Award, and was a member of the top show choir Sound Invention during both my years at Plano East Senior High. I have trained in many different vocal styles including Broadway, contemporary, jazz, pop, gospel, and classical.

As a student at Texas Woman’s University (2010-2014) I have trained professionally with  voice coach Laurie Lee Cosby and participated as a vocalist with the Chamber Singers, Concert choir, Pioneer Voices and the Opera ensemble (2012 - 2013).  In 2013 as part of the opera ensemble I performed the lead role of Top  in the opera Tender Land. In addition, I won the upper college division at the 2013 and in 2014 National Association of Teachers Singers competition.  I also have taught voice lessons from 2014 to 2015 at Harpool Middle School with a full studio of students.  As a teacher I continue to push myself by pursuing the continuous cycle of learning and improving through voice training and performing throughout the community as much as I can.

All of my experiences have taught me the importance of music in a choral setting and helped me to understand how to develop a student’s voice. I believe and support the consistent learning and development of any voice at any age.

I believe that improvement in voice quality, technique, and performance skills are a combination of imparting technical knowledge to the student as well as supporting a student in a healthy and fun way so they gain the confidence to blossom.  Nothing brings me more joy than being able to help teach, encourage, and inspire students as they go through the journey of falling in love with music and their voice!
